INTENNSE Supercharges Leadership Team with Industry Veterans to Reimagine Pro Tennis
The professional tennis world is about to feel a jolt of new energy. INTENNSE, the bold new league built for fast-paced formats and fan-first experiences, has added four high-profile executives to its leadership team. The move marks another major step forward as INTENNSE gears up to deliver a radically new vision of the sport.
From ATP event veterans to Olympic-level officiating and cutting-edge competition systems, the new hires bring decades of experience across every corner of the tennis ecosystem.
“The momentum keeps building. Time to turn up the voltage another notch,” said Charles Allen, CEO of INTENNSE. “As we prepare to bring sports fans an experience like nothing seen before on a tennis court, we’re excited to welcome leaders who’ve redefined excellence at the highest levels of sports and entertainment.”
Meet the New Leaders
John Butler – Executive Director
With over 30 years in sports and entertainment, John Butler is perhaps best known for turning the Delray Beach Open into one of the most fan-centric ATP Tour stops in the world—complete with on-court seating, music-driven programming, and city-wide activations. He has also produced events for USTA, PGA, AVP, and ITF.
“John’s a builder of unforgettable experiences,” Allen said. “His event strategy and creative vision will make INTENNSE feel like more than a match. It will be a movement.”
Jaume Campistol – Head of Officiating
Campistol brings elite-level credibility with over 2,300 matches officiated, including seven Grand Slam finals, three Davis Cup Finals, and two Olympic gold medal matches. A longtime member of the ITF/Grand Slam Officiating Team, he’ll be responsible for leading officiating standards and introducing new technologies, including electronic line calling.
“We’re combining elite standards with innovation to meet the demands of a high-speed format,” Campistol said. “INTENNSE gives us a chance to update officiating for the modern sports landscape.”
Barry Fulcher – Head of Competition
A former ATP-ranked player turned coach and founder of The Progress Tour, Barry Fulcher has created developmental and earning opportunities for thousands of players worldwide. At INTENNSE, he will oversee match format design, league structure, and integration between coaching, competition, and officiating.
“We’re creating something that truly puts the needs of the players first,” said Fulcher. “This is the kind of innovation the sport has been crying out for—providing players with fantastic opportunities and an incredible spectacle for fans.”
Randy Jenks – Vice President of Partner Relations
Randy Jenks has spent his career at the intersection of technology and tennis competition. He co-developed the UTR Rating and Events platform and has contributed to both the USTA’s Tournament System and the ITF’s World Tennis Number. At INTENNSE, he will lead the league’s partnership strategy and help shape junior and amateur development pathways.
“Tennis must evolve—and the time is now,” Jenks said. “I'm proud to be part of a league that I believe will impact the future of the sport.”
Built for What’s Next
INTENNSE is positioning itself as more than a new league—it’s a reimagining of what professional tennis can be. By blending tradition with innovation and storytelling, the league aims to attract a broader and more engaged fanbase.
“We’ve assembled a leadership team with an energy and experience level that’s second to none,” Allen said. “From ATP tournaments to Olympic officiating to grassroots player development, they legitimize what we’re building. We’re not just launching a league—we’re delivering the next evolution of tennis.”
