Jean-Yves Aubone joins INTENNSE as the new host
JY grew up in a tennis family and started playing at the age of 2. His passion for tennis led him to homeschool during high school to focus on the sport. Throughout his junior career, he represented the United States in the Junior Davis Cup, competed in the Junior US Open, and ranked in the Top 10 nationally in every age group.
Aubone played collegiate tennis at Florida State University from 2006 to 2010, where he made history as the only 2-time All-American in the program. He was also named ACC Player of the Year and served as the #1 singles player for three years, winning two professional titles while in college.
After graduating, JY took a brief break from tennis to work in finance at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. He later returned to professional tennis, playing for 3.5 years and securing 17 titles (3 singles, 14 doubles). He also represented the U.S. in the Pan-American Games.
JY transitioned to coaching and served as the Head of Junior Tennis at Cherokee Town & Country Club, overseeing a program of over 150 players. He later became an independent contractor for the USTA Player Development program, where he worked as a traveling coach for Reilly Opelka. Under his guidance, Opelka climbed from World #229 to #19.
JY now joins INTENNSE, bringing his extensive experience as a player and coach to the platform. With a proven track record in developing top players and a deep understanding of the sport, he will provide expert analysis and commentary, enhancing the fan experience.
