Knoxville Racquet Club Welcomes INTENNSE Knoxville Team

Since 1961, the Knoxville Racquet Club has been a cornerstone of the East Tennessee community. Boasting 29 tennis courts spread across its 32-acre campus, the club offers state-of-the-art facilities and a legacy of experienced coaching.

Scott Patrick, the head coach of INTENNSE Knoxville, has been a pivotal figure at the club for the past 23 years, nurturing the next generation of tennis talent. Under his guidance, 50 junior players have advanced to compete at the collegiate level.

Patrick’s journey in tennis began at 14 when he joined Nick Bollettieri’s Academy. He later competed in collegiate tennis at Eastern Kentucky before embarking on a coaching career that included a five-year stint as the assistant women’s coach at the University of Kentucky.

On the court, INTENNSE Knoxville will be led by team captain Hunter Reese, a former standout for the Tennessee Volunteers. Reese boasts an impressive collegiate singles record of 90-51 and a doubles record of 117-37, ranking 14th and 6th, respectively, in Tennessee history.

During his college career, Reese earned numerous accolades, including ITA All-American honors in 2013, 2014, and 2015. His crowning achievement came in 2014, when he and Mikelis Libietis won the NCAA Doubles Championship and secured the No. 1 doubles ranking in the nation.

Reese’s professional career has been equally impressive, with a career-high doubles ranking of No. 73 and 12 ATP Challenger titles. Fans will recall his electrifying run with Evan King at the 2021 US Open, where the duo reached the Round of 16.

With Scott Patrick’s coaching expertise and Hunter Reese’s leadership and success on the court, INTENNSE Knoxville is poised to make waves. Fans can look forward to high-energy matches and a wealth of talent as the team embarks on its journey to success.
