A Legacy of Achievements at Case Western Reserve University

During his 16 seasons at the helm of Case Western Reserve University’s men’s tennis team, Todd refined the program into a national powerhouse, culminating in the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championship—the first team title in CWRU history. Under his leadership, the Spartans have consistently excelled, earning five individual national championships, 25 All-America honors, and numerous academic accolades.

Todd boasts an impressive 305-119 career record, achieving a .719 winning percentage while navigating one of the toughest conferences in Division III tennis. His coaching legacy includes five individual national champions, 25 All-America honorees, and recognition as the 2021 Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year. Todd’s players have also thrived academically, earning 11 CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, two NCAA postgraduate scholarships, and four NCAA Elite 90 awards, underscoring his holistic approach to player development.

A Passionate Advocate for Tennis Growth

“My love for tennis was born in Youngstown, Ohio, with the Vens family and taught me many life lessons one could be lucky enough to know,” Todd shared. This early dedication to the sport paved the way for a remarkable journey as both a player and coach.

Before his transformative role at CWRU, Todd was a standout player at The Ohio State University, where he earned the prestigious Varsity “O” Postgraduate Scholarship. As a Buckeye, he contributed to a Big Ten Championship-winning team that achieved a No. 5 national ranking. These formative experiences shaped his leadership on and off the court.

In addition to his collegiate contributions, Todd has actively worked to grow the game through service on the Board of Directors for Advantage Cleveland and the USTA Northeastern Ohio Tennis Association (NEOTA). His efforts have expanded access and opportunities for tennis in his community, reflecting his commitment to the sport’s growth at all levels.

A New Vision for Tennis

Todd’s forward-thinking philosophy aligns seamlessly with INTENNSE’s mission to bring fresh energy to tennis. "INTENNSE is a new way of looking at the sport that will undoubtedly disrupt our traditional way of thinking,” he remarked.

When asked about players he’s most excited to watch, Todd shared his admiration for Nishesh Basavareddy, calling him “one of the smartest players on tour, a NextGen all-star.” He also highlighted James Hopper as a “hidden star,” demonstrating his keen eye for emerging talent.

Leading the Charge for Change

As INTENNSE continues to energize and innovate within the sport, Todd Wojtkowski’s insights and leadership will be pivotal in shaping tennis’s future. His passion, strategic acumen, and belief in tennis as a vehicle for personal and community growth align perfectly with INTENNSE’s vision.
