Windy Hill Athletic Club Announced as Home of INTENNSE Atlanta
The Windy Hill Athletic Club has been named the official home for INTENNSE Atlanta. Head coach Marcelo Ferreira and team captain Michaela Gordon will lead the team into its inaugural season, setting the stage for a new era of competitive tennis.
Located just north of downtown Atlanta, Windy Hill Athletic Club is a premier facility featuring eight state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor weatherized tennis courts. With a reputation for excellence, the club offers the perfect setting for players and fans to experience the fast-paced and innovative INTENNSE format.
Marcelo Ferreira: A Proven Leader in Tennis Coaching
Marcelo Ferreira brings a distinguished track record as the head coach of INTENNSE Atlanta. Currently serving as the High-Performance Tennis Manager at Windy Hill, Ferreira has spent over 15 years shaping champions at both collegiate and professional levels.
He has coached at prestigious programs such as Pepperdine University, Texas Tech University, and Georgia College & State University, earning recognition as a two-time ITA Assistant Coach of the Year. His players have excelled under his guidance, achieving All-American honors, winning NCAA championships, and transitioning to successful professional careers.
Michaela Gordon: A Champion and Team Leader
Taking charge as team captain, Michaela Gordon enters the INTENNSE arena following an illustrious collegiate career at Stanford University. A four-time ITA All-American, Gordon played a pivotal role in Stanford’s dominance, contributing to two NCAA team championships (2018, 2019) and three Pac-12 Tournament titles.
Her individual accolades include:
- 2019 Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year—Stanford’s first recipient in seven years.
- 2018 ITA National Rookie of the Year, marking her as one of the brightest newcomers in collegiate tennis.
- Three All-Pac-12 First Team selections and a No. 2 doubles NCAA All-Tournament Team placement, showcasing her consistent excellence.
